Museum Hoge Woerd
3,000 Years of Living and Working
Spread across various themed islands, ten films and animations paint a clear picture of the changing Utrecht landscape, from Roman times to the present day.
In a section of the ramparts at the archaeological museum of Castellum Hoge Woerd, the focus is on the story of humans and their everyday needs. A variety of productions are available, ranging from informative documentaries and engaging animations to interactive videos. A living portrait of a woman from the early Middle Ages tells visitors about her life and the objects she used every day, while another island invites you to interview four growers.
Through an iterative process, the various stories in the films were developed and refined by a team of specialists in archaeology, concept development, direction, camera, sound, and animation.
We have already produced the documentary De Meern 1, about the salvage and conservation of a Roman ship discovered in Leidsche Rijn in 1997. This ship now forms the centrepiece of the Castellum pavilion.
