A journey through time
Did you know that the Binnenhof is the oldest government building in the world? The Netherlands has been governed from this location for 800 years. It is not surprising that this building has changed considerably over the years. In the 'Information Center Binnenhof Renovation' visitors learn about the Binnenhof’s rich history. A nice alternative, now that the Binnenhof itself is not accessible to the general public.
The entire exhibition has remained flexible and can easily change content. This is necessary because the renovation is still ongoing. Special objects and archaeological finds are displayed in display cases, but the latest designs and updates on the renovations of the Binnenhof are also revealed here.
From the first stone to the 4.000 rooms, corridors, attics and cellars of today, we made an animation film in which every step is explained. In addition, we have realised a 3D model with controlled lighting. Little by little, the Binnenhof grows and the lighting of the model is synchronized with this.
